Ladies Day and St Richards Hospice Press Release
Worcester Racecourse is proudly celebrated Ladies Day 2025 on Saturday 7th June, the most anticipated and stylish highlight of the racing calendar; welcoming over 9,000 guests to its biggest and most dazzling event of the year. Despite some early showers, the weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of racegoers, and the sunshine finally made a welcome appearance just in time for an unforgettable afternoon and evening. Set against the stunning backdrop of the River Severn, this year’s event promises an unforgettable day of fashion, racing, and charitable giving –supporting St Richard’s Hospice.
Known for its vibrant atmosphere and sense of occasion, Ladies Day attracts thousands of guests dressed to impress, making it a standout social and sporting event. This year’s festivities will be elevated with the debut of our new Trackside Marquee, offering an exclusive hospitality experience and the best views on course.
“We’re incredibly proud to make Ladies Day 2025 our most glamorous yet, and even more thrilled to support such a vital local cause,” said Michael Thomas, General Manager at Worcester Racecourse. “St Richard’s Hospice does remarkable work in our community, and we’re honoured to contribute to their mission through this special day.”
The Trackside Marquee will play host to an afternoon of indulgence, featuring live entertainment, elegant dining options, a best-dressed competition, and of course, a thrilling schedule of races. A portion of proceeds and on-the-day fundraising activities will benefit St Richard’s Hospice, helping provide care and support for patients and families across Worcestershire. Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees and supporters, the charity raised in excess of £24,000 on the day – making it a fantastic event for many reasons.
Kelly Johns, Fundraising Community and Events Manager at St Richard’s, said: “This is one of the biggest and best-loved events in the hospice’s income generation calendar, and this year’s event was just fantastic—despite the dismal forecast!
“This is the twenty-second year we have hosted a Ladies Day marquee, and we are always blown-away by the generosity of our guests. This year was no different and we are thrilled to have raised such a phenomenal amount.
“Every penny raised will help us continue to be there for people when they need us most, as we rely on events and other voluntary income to fund the majority of our work with just 20 per cent from the NHS.
“A big thank you to all our guests, our event sponsor Eva Capital Management, our table and welcome drinks sponsors, racing tipster Ryan Tongue, our auctioneer Philip Serrell, all the businesses which donated raffle prizes, and our fantastic volunteers.”
As the races came to a close, the celebration continued long into the evening. Guests danced the night away to the Ultimate Take That tribute act, followed by a high-energy DJ set from Spencer Lowe, who returned by popular demand and didn’t disappoint – delivering an unforgettable party, packed with absolute bangers.
From fabulous fashion to thrilling racing, live entertainment and meaningful fundraising, Ladies Day 2025 was a spectacular showcase of what makes Worcester Racecourse such a beloved venue for locals and visitors alike.
Tickets and hospitality packages are now available and expected to sell quickly. Whether attending for the racing, to mark an occasion, or to support an incredible cause, Worcester Racecourse promises to deliver a spectacular and memorable occasion not to be missed.
